Our mission

About Bhotia

Bhotia — sometimes written Bho Tia — is our name for this Hong Kong editorial guide to the best momo: Himalayan, Nepali, and Tibetan dumplings, reviewed by people with names, not anonymous stars.

Why “Bhotia”

Here, Bhotia is not used as a surname. It nods to people of Tibetan (and related Himalayan) ancestry. We hope the name feels welcoming to that community while serving all Hong Kong diners looking for great momo — jhol bowls, pan-fried plates, vegetarian fills, and everything in between.

Intended site: Bhotia.com (custom domain attach is separate from this static build).

What we are at launch

Editorial reviews only. Named reviewers write every scored piece. There are no public star ratings yet. Readers can suggest spots and tips; they cannot vote scores onto the site.

We’re building a trustworthy shortlist for jhol bowls, pan-fried plates, vegetarian fills, and value sets across Jordan, Western, Wan Chai, Kennedy Town, and further afield.

Reviews are never paid

Hard rule: Reviews are never paid. Restaurants may advertise separately. Ads must not touch scores, rankings, or Best-of placement.

Best-of lists are 100% editorial. If a meal or gift is complimentary, we disclose it on the spot page. Disclosure does not buy a better score.

Who writes

Launch reviews will carry a reviewer byline. Until visits are filed, listings are clearly marked Draft — awaiting editorial visit with placeholder scores so the site IA and content model can be tested.
